Chinese men arrested in HCMC for breaking in villa, stealing jewelries, Rolex watches

Two Chinese men were arrested in Ho Chi Minh City on Friday after breaking into a villa and stealing cash, diamond rings and luxury watches.

On July 25, the police received a report from the owner of a villa in District 7’s Tan Phong Ward, who stated that while the family was on a trip in Europe, neighbors noticed their doors were unlocked. Authorities arrived at the scene and discovered signs of a break-in.

The owner reported the loss of three Rolex watches, a Louis Vuitton bag, a gold bracelet, four diamond rings, cash in different currencies worth around US$12,000, among other valuables.

Within about 12 hours, the police apprehended the suspects, aged 39 and 45, and seized the car used in the heist, the three Rolex watches, and several pieces of jewelry and cash believed to belong to the villa’s owner.

The two men confessed to entering Vietnam through the northern border and admitted to breaking into the villa to steal valuables.

The investigation is ongoing.
