HCM CITY – Ambassador Đặng Hoàng Giang, Việt Nam’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations (UN), highly appreciated the impressive presence of Vietnamese textile and garment products at the New York Textile and Garment Exhibition on July 16 (New York time).
Nguyễn Mạnh Hùng, director of Việt Nam Trade Promotion Center in New York, said that this is one of the world’s leading textile and garment exhibitions, which gathers and connects hundreds of suppliers, designers and customers in the global textile and garment supply chain.
In order to introduce and promote products at this year’s fair, with the support of HCM City Investment and Trade Promotion Center (ITPC), 39 Vietnamese textile and garment industry enterprises participated in displaying their goods at the “Hồ Chí Minh Pavilion” space.
The Ambassador evaluated the efforts of Vietnamese businesses that brought to the fair many fashion products with diverse and creative designs, including many products made from green and friendly materials, such as coffee fibres and lotus fibres.
Businesses participating in the fair hope that this fair will be an opportunity to enhance brand promotion and the quality of Vietnamese products.
The Ambassador emphasized that textiles and garments are Việt Nam’s main export product. The country’s businesses have a lot of potential and opportunities to expand their market share in the US, so they need to increase access and meet potential customers, and learn about and promptly grasp new consumer and fashion trends. At the same time, businesses should also focus on innovation and strive to meet the increasingly high standards of demanding markets like the US.
In addition, Giang also suggested that Vietnamese business associations should continue to coordinate closely with Vietnamese representative agencies in the US to bring Vietnamese products closer to the local market, thereby contributing to developing Việt Nam’s textile and garment industry and strengthening trade relations between the two countries. – VNS
