ĐÀ NẴNG – The first-ever international youth arts festival is scheduled to take place this August to convey the message of friendship and create a platform for young people of Việt Nam and other countries to show their talents.
Nguyễn Ngọc Bình, President of the Union of Friendship Organisations of central city of Đà Nẵng, said on Friday that the festival, held by the union, is expected to attract 200 – 300 participants from Việt Nam and seven – 10 international youth delegations.
They will be divided into two age groups, 5 – 11 and 12 – 17, and perform in three categories, namely musical instrument performing, singing – dancing, and play performing – fashion.
The youths are scheduled to show their talents in HCM City on August 3, in Đà Nẵng on August 11 – 12, and in Hà Nội from August 23 to 26, after which the award ceremony will be held, he said.
Binh noted that to enhance friendship between Vietnam and other countries, participants in the festival will also have a chance to engage in an international summer camp where they can exchange with one another, receive training in artistic skills, and learn about the cultures of many countries.
The festival aims to honour international arts, introduce the arts of Việt Nam, and boost the cultural exchange between Vietnamese and international youths, thereby helping develop the friendship and solidarity between people of Vietnam and other countries around the world, he added. VNS
