Man rams into traffic police officer to escape alcohol test

A driver in northern Bac Giang Province rammed into a traffic police officer on a motorbike before trying to escape as he was requested to stop for alcohol level check.

A patrol team of 20 police officers were checking alcohol level violations on a section of provincial road 294 in Tan Yen District at around 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday when they saw a pickup truck trying to escape when the driver was requested to stop for an alcohol level check.

Lieutenant Nguyen Van Tan then used his motorbike to block the way, but the pickup truck sped up and rammed into the motorbike, causing Tan to fall down onto the road. The motorbike was swept underneath the pickup truck.

The police team then chased after the pickup truck for 5 km. When they reached Tan Trung Commune, they saw that the truck had been parked by the side of the road, while the driver had left the scene.
