Saigon this weekend will see a varied array of events, from classical music and Tet-themed markets to a Sunday brunch and a cinematic adventure.
Musical event “Wander”
The VOH Music One Opera House will host a musical event titled “Wander,” focusing on classical music. This event aims to explore the diverse cultures of various Western countries through the presentation of folk-inspired pieces.

The concept of the event is inspired by practices of composers who engaged in travels to different regions, collecting traditional songs, lullabies, and other musical elements for inspiration.
The event will be held from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Jan. 26, at VOH Music One Opera House, located at 37 Nguyen Binh Khiem Street, District 1. Ticket prices are from VND500,000 to VND1,200,000 ($20 to $48). Interested attendees can book the tickets through the provided link.
Tet Fair
Giong, a Saigon-based coffee brand, is set to organize a Tet Fair at its Ly Chinh Thang location. The event aims to provide a marketplace featuring a diverse array of natural products, including cosmetics, snacks, herbal tea, clothing crafted from recycled fabrics, spices, and handmade items from wood, paper, and clay. Notably, a calligraphy booth will be available, aligning with the spirit of the upcoming Tet, which peaks on Feb. 10.

Scheduled for Jan. 27 and 28, the fair will run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 180 Ly Chinh Thang Street, District 3.
Thao Dien market
The “Thao Dien Weekend Bazaar” introduces a market centered around the theme of Tet. The event offers visitors shopping opportunities, featuring a variety of fashion items and Tet-themed decor. Attendees can explore traditional Vietnamese attire ao dai, savor Tet dishes, and discover locally made items.

The event is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Jan. 27-28. The venue is 14 Le Van Mien Street, Thao Dien Ward, District 2.
Tet-inspired Sunday brunch
The restaurant Mia Saigon presents a Tet-inspired Sunday brunch, featuring a variety of offerings, including salads, grills, sashimi, premium meats and seafood, as well as desserts. There will be a live music performance from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m., and a lucky red envelope crafting session from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Located at Kitchen By The River, guests can embark on a diverse culinary journey featuring crisp salads, exquisite grills, artful sashimi, premium meats, seafood, and desserts. The buffet packages are available from VND1,900,000 to VND3,100,000 ($77 to $125).
For children, there is a complimentary brunch for those under 6 years old per couple. Accompanying children aged 6 to 12 years old incur a charge of VND950,000 ($38) per child.
The event is scheduled to take place from noon to 3 p.m. on Jan. 28 at Kitchen by The River, situated within Mia Saigon at 2-4 Street 10, District 2.
French movie “Sur la piste du Marsupilami” (Houba! On the Trail of the Marsupilami)
French cinema Rendez-vous is a new weekly event introducing the richness and diversity of French cinema by screening a variety of very different films. Screenings are held by French Cinema Rendez-vous and Institut Français de HCMV.

“Sur la piste du Marsupilami” is a French adventure comedy film, released in 2012. The movie follows the character Dan Geraldo, a television reporter, who is sent to Palombia, a fictional South American country, to investigate a mysterious creature known as the Marsupilami. Alongside his guide, Dan embarks on a wild and comedic journey through the jungle.
“Sur la piste du Marsupilami” will be screened at 7 p.m. on Jan. 27 at DCiné, 6 Mac Dinh Chi Street, District 1. Tickets cost VND75,000 ($3).
