Gasoline and diesel prices went up slightly Thursday after months of decline.
The popular RON95 gasoline rose 3.46% to VND22,140 ($0.91) per liter.
Biofuel E5 RON92 went up 3.32% to VND21,190.
Diesel gained 2.68% to VND19,520.
Globally oil prices fell on Thursday as concerns over low demand following a surprise U.S. crude inventory build outweighed jitters over global trade disruptions due to tensions in the Middle East, Reuters reported.
Brent crude futures fell 3 cents to $79.67 a barrel while U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude was at $74.16 a barrel, also down 6 cents.
Both benchmarks ended higher on Wednesday for a third straight session, as investors worried about trade disruptions given major maritime carriers chose to steer clear of the Red Sea route, with longer voyages increasing transport and insurance costs.
