Flames engulfed a parking lot in HCMC’s Cu Chi District Tuesday, burning down 8 cars and resulting in VND2.2 billion ($93,800) in damage.
The fire began at around 10 a.m. in a parking lot spanning over 1,000 sq.m in Phuoc Vinh An Commune. Locals tried to extinguish the flames but failed. The fire soon spread to several cars inside the lot, producing columns of black smokes that were dozens of meters high.
Over 20 officers with firefighter trucks were dispatched to the scene. The fire was put under control at around 11 a.m. There was no casualty.
