Two people were injured after a truck barreled into three cars on a Da Lat pass and flipped onto its side Friday afternoon.
Truong Trung Quy, 49, was driving the truck on the Mimosa Pass at around 12:50 p.m. when it collided with a taxi cab in front of it, before hitting another car.
The truck only stopped after it hit a pickup truck coming from the opposite direction, before flipping.
All three cars hit by the truck were damaged. Two people were injured in the incident, and traffic was also congested after that.
Police have taken samples from Quy to test for alcohol and drugs, while also re-routing traffic to relieve congestion.
The Mimosa Pass, spanning 11 km, is the main traffic route for Da Lat entry from the south. Due to degradation over the years, a renovation project for the pass, with a total capital of over VND440 billion ($18.5 million), has been approved by the Ministry of Transport. The project is expected to be completed in 2024.
