One man was killed in a fire that broke out at a paint factory in Hanoi’s Ha Dong District Thursday morning.
The fire began at 7 a.m. inside the warehouse,which have a lot of flammable materials.
Strong winds caused the flames to spread quickly.
At least seven fire trucks with 50 officers were dispatched to the scene. Walls had to be demolished so that their water hoses could reach the fire.
The blaze was largely brought under control by 9 a.m., but columns of smoke were still rising dozens of meters in the air.
The two facilities collapsed and everything inside them have been severely damaged.
The total loss is being assessed.
An unidentified security guard died in the fire.
The Hanoi firefighting department said the plant was officially closed in 2020, but in reality its facilities did not.
