Situated in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City, this serviced apartment complex serves up a tropical twist to connect its inhabitants with nature.
The building is located on a 300-square-meter plot in HCMC’s District 1. |
It was redesigned and rebuilt from an old building with 27 rooms with areas ranging from 24 to 45 square meters. Architects from K.A Studio retained the large void, structural columns and beams. They removed all unnecessary elements to create more room for greenery and light and natural ventilation. |
The unique curved form of the balcony creates space for the tropical plants to grow and thrive, forming a lushing green courtyard for the building and creating a place for guests to unwind and breathe some fresh air. |
Plants in front of the patio act as barriers, giving a sense of privacy between each room. |
The greeneries help blur the boundaries between inside and outside. |
Professional gardeners also come here four to five times a year to take care of the plants. On top of that, the building was installed with an automatic irrigation system, so these plants are kept in top shape. |
Designers also payed attention to not only ventilating each room, but also the hallway. |
Architects further clad the rooms with eco-friendly materials like regenerating woods, local split stones, lightweight concrete, terrazzo and rattan. |
The property also boasts an outdoor swimming pool where visitors can rest, relax and immerse themselves in the tranquil surroundings. The apartment was completed in 2020. |
