The Health Ministry confirmed 209,486 new local Covid-19 cases in 62 cities and provinces Sunday.
The northern province of Bac Giang added 42,533 cases recorded from previous days to the national database, pushing the ongoing wave’s tally to 6,033,130.
The three localities with the highest number of new cases were Bac Giang with 45,386 cases, Hanoi with 29,269 cases, and Nghe An with 10,243 cases.
The Covid-19 death toll in Vietnam rose to 41,388 with the confirmation of 95 deaths Monday.
The Health Ministry also confirmed 95,538 recoveries the same day, bringing the total number of recovered cases so far to 3,163,571.
