HÀ NỘI — A total of 1,118 new COVID-19 infections were announced on Monday, bringing the total caseload to 10,718,369.
For only the second time in five months, Hà Nội is not the area with the most number of new daily cases, with 261 infections detected on Monday.
Bắc Ninh Province surpassed the capital and topped the list with 265 new cases.
Other transmissions were detected in Yên Bái (62), Hải Dương (52), Quảng Ninh (42), Hải Phòng (36), Đà Nẵng (35), Tuyên Quang (31), Vĩnh Phúc (28), Thái Nguyên (25), Hà Giang (24), Thái Bình (23), Phú Thọ (22), Nghệ An (21), Quảng Bình (19), Lào Cai (17), Bắc Kạn (15), Hưng Yên (14), HCM City (11), Hà Tĩnh (11), Hòa Bình (8), Điện Biên (7), Lạng Sơn (7), Nam Định (7), Quảng Ngãi (6), Lâm Đồng (6), Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu (6), Hà Nam (6), Cao Bằng (6), Sơn La (6), Bắc Giang (5), Gia Lai (5), Quảng Trị (4), Lai Châu (4), Khánh Hòa (4), Bình Thuận (4), Bình Dương (3), Ninh Bình (2), Vĩnh Long (2), Đồng Nai (1), Bình Định (1), Bến Tre (1), Đồng Tháp (1), Hậu Giang (1), and Cà Mau (1).
All the new infections were domestic. A total of 999 new transmissions were detected in the community.
Việt Nam continues to record no COVID-related deaths for the fourth day in a row. The total number of COVID-19 fatalities in the country remains at 43,078, accounting for 0.4 per cent of total cases.
