Marie Chevallier, a French woman of Vietnamese descent and the wife of Louis Ducruet, the grandson of Princess Kelly of Monaco, gave birth to a baby girl on Tuesday.
The news was delivered by Prince Albert himself during an appearance at a Red Cross volunteer program, according to Monaco-Matin.
“My nephew Louis Ducruet and his wife Marie have the joy of being parents of a little girl,” Prince Albert said, while standing on the stage of the Rainier III Auditorium.
The “little girl,” whose name has not been revealed, is the firstborn of the royal couple, and the first grandchild of Princess Stéphanie of Monaco. She arrives 16th in the line of succession to the throne of the Principality of Monaco.
The couple got engaged when Louis popped the question during the couple’s vacation in Hoi An, Vietnam. They got married in 2019 and announced that they were expecting last year.
Marie is working as a hotel executive in Monaco, while her husband Louis is working with the England-based football club Nottingham Forest, according to People.
