Woman fined for letting son sit on car roof

A woman in Tien Giang who let her son sit on the roof of her running car was fined VND4 million ($170.54) and had her license revoked for two months.

Traffic police of Mekong Delta’s Tien Giang Province on Saturday said a 31-year-old woman in Vinh Kim Commune had borrowed her father’s car to drive her 12-year-old son along National Highway 1 on Thursday.

In the process, she allowed her son to sit on the car’s roof by opening the sunroof. A driver following behind captured the incident on camera, posting it on social media.

Those who transport people on a car’s roof or trunk could be fined up to VND5 million in Vietnam.
