VnExpress Marathon to organize Da Nang night run

The VnExpress Marathon Da Nang Midnight is the third night run in the VnExpress Marathon system, after Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Athletes will at midnight on July 14, 2024, and run through the typical coastal streets in central Vietnam’s tourist center.

Da Nang is known as the city of bridges in Vietnam. Participating in the tournament, runners can conquer famous bridges such as the Han River Bridge, the Dragon Bridge, and the Tran Thi Ly Bridge and watch the poetic Han River at night.

Some 10,000 participants will compete in four distances, 5 kilometers, 10 kilometers, 21 kilometers (half marathon), and 42 kilometers (full marathon). Runners can click here to track information about the tournament.

In the central region, Da Nang has a thriving running movement. VnExpress Marathons have many runners from this city. VnExpress Marathon Da Nang Midnight is expected to encourage the sports spirit in the community and contribute to the night economy’s development.

With a strategic position and advantageous traffic conditions, Da Nang easily attracts nationwide runners by air, road, or rail.

The night run takes place in July, an appropriate time for the summer holidays. Combining running, runners, and families can explore the city’s famous tourist destinations such as My Khe beach, Son Tra peninsula, the Golden Bridge, Ba Na Hills, Hai Van Pass, and the love bridge.

Da Nang has diverse cuisine, with many famous dishes such as banh beo (savory steamed rice cake), banh trang cuon thit heo (rice paper rolls with pork), and mi Quang (savory mixed noodles).

With developed infrastructure, this locality can meet the needs of 10,000 athletes and about 30,000 tourists to dine, lodge and visit during the tournament days.

VnExpress is Vietnam’s most extensive running system, operated and owned by VnExpress newspaper, FPT Online Services Joint Stock Company (FPT Online).

The tournament is held annually in tourist cities such as Ho Chi Minh City (February 11-12, 2023), Hue ancient capital (April 16, 2023), Quy Nhon (June 11, 2023), Nha Trang (August 13, 2023), Ha Long (September 10, 2023), Hanoi (November 25-26, 2023) and Hai Phong (December 17, 2023).

With relentless community-building efforts, the VnExpress Marathon was honored to receive the Silver award at the Asian Media Awards 2021, awarded by the World Press Association WAN-IFRA.

All running tracks of the VnExpress Marathon system in 2023 are already certified with the running standard of AIMS-World Athletics (granted by the International Marathon Association and the World Athletics Federation).
