Vietnam’s benchmark VN-Index rose 0.92% to 1,288.88 points Thursday, its biggest one-day increase since mid-August.
The index closed 11.72 points higher after gaining 6.35 points on Wednesday.
Trading on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange increased by 1.89% to VND15.48 trillion ($661.1 million).
The VN-30 basket, comprising the 30 largest capped stocks, saw 26 tickers gain.
GVR of Vietnam Rubber Group led with a 5.4% gain.
It was followed by TPB of private lender TPBank, up 2.5%, and MWG of electronics retailer Mobile World, up 2.4%.
Other winners included VIB of lender Vietnam International Commercial JSB, up 2.4%, and VHM of property giant Vinhomes, up 2.2%.
Only two blue chips bucked the trend, with GAS of Petrovietnam Gas losing 0.68% and VJC of budget airline Vietjet Air dropping 0.1%.
Foreign investors turned net buyers after four net selling sessions to the tune of VND89.87 billion.
The HNX-Index at the Hanoi Stock Exchange, where mid and small caps list, rose 0.19% while the UPCoM-Index at the Unlisted Public Companies Market surged 0.31%.
