Vietnam’s benchmark VN-Index rose 2.03% to 1,088.29 points Tuesday in its fifth straight session in the green.
The index closed 21.61 points higher after gaining 6.51 points on Monday.
Trading on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HoSE) increased by 25.40% to VND11.75 trillion ($501.39 million).
The VN-30 basket, comprising the 30 largest capped stocks, saw 29 tickers gain.
HPG of steelmaker Hoa Phat Group led with a 6.9% surge.
It was followed by SSI of leading brokerage SSI Securities Corporation, up 5.2%.
MBB of lender MB gained 4.9%, and VRE of retail real estate arm Vincom Retail rose 4.5%.
SAB of brewer Sabeco was the only blue chip that dropped 0.8%.
Foreign investors were net buyers to the tune of VND795.93 billion, mainly buying HPG and STB of Ho Chi Minh City-based lender Sacombank.
The HNX-Index at the Hanoi Stock Exchange, where mid and small caps list, was up 2.02% while the UPCoM-Index at the Unlisted Public Companies Market was up by 1.04%.
