Taxi firm Vinasun posted a profit of VND60.5 billion ($2.45 million) in the third quarter, the highest since 2017, thanks to a recovery from Covid-19 impacts.
Its revenue surged 10-fold to VND350 billion from a low base last year when social distancing was imposed in Ho Chi Minh City and other southern localities.
It plans to buy 350 new cars this year and has so far put 317 into operation.
In the first nine months it posted a revenue of VND764 billion, double year-on-year.
Vinasun in the first quarter ended its eight consecutive loss-making quarters in a row. It posted post tax profit in the following first six months.
The company posted a loss of VND487 billion in the past two years due to Covid-19 restrictions.
The taxi firm has a total asset value of nearly VND1.7 trillion, up 6% from the beginning of the year.
