Telecom giant Viettel reported revenues of VND172.5 trillion (US$7.04 billion) for 2023, 5.4% up from the previous year.
But the state-owned company has yet to release profit figures. In 2022 its pre-tax profits had been VND43.5 trillion, highets in five years.
Viettel said it has a 56% mobile market share and nearly 500 5G base stations around the country.
It fabricated the 56 DFE chip, the most complex part of the 5G ecosystem, last year, marking a milestone in Vietnam’s semiconductor industry.
In the fiber-to-home and multi-platform television markets it had shares of 43% and 31%.
Its overseas revenues surged by 20%. It was the leader in the telecom market in six countries: Haiti, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, East Timor, and Burundi.
The company targets revenue growth of 7.2% this year.
