Vietnamese star midfielder to get engaged to model girlfriend

The engagement ceremony of Hai and Huyen will take place on Jan. 1, 2024, which coincides with the gathering of the national team in preparation for the 2024 Asian Cup. Hai is on the preliminary list of 50 players for the tournament. If his name is on the final list, Hai will go with the team to Qatar on Jan. 5.

The couple’s proposal ceremony took place in Hanoi on Wednesday morning. The ceremony took place privately, with only the presence of members of the two families. The 27-year-old donned a cream-white suit for the ceremony.

Hai and Huyen have been in a relationship for three years but rarely made it public on social networks, although they still attended many events together.

In 2022, when Hai played for Pau FC in France, Huyen visited him there and stayed with Hai to take care of him until he left Pau in June this year to return home and play for Vietnamese club CAHN.

Huyen, born in 2000, is a freelance businesswoman and model.

Hai was one of the most prominent players of Vietnam under former national head coach Park Hang-seo. After success in the 2018 AFC U23 Championship, Hai and the national team won the 2018 AFF Cup and he was voted the best player of the tournament. In the same year, he won his first Vietnamese Golden Ball. Hai is also a key player in Vietnam’s historic feat of advancing to the third qualifying round of the 2022 World Cup. At the club level, Hai owns a full set of domestic titles, including the V. League, National Cup and Super Cup.

He made a limited contribution to CAHN’s first V. League title in August this year.

The new season started well for Hai as he scored two goals in three V. League matches, after missing the first three rounds.
