Vietnamese man detained for alleged sabotage of solidarity policies

A man in the Central Highlands’ Dak Lak Province was accused of directing a group to spread false information, sabotage unity and undermine authorities.

The Dak Lak police apprehended Y Po Mlo, 63, on Thursday, accusing him of sabotaging the implementation of government solidarity policies. According to official sources, Y Po Mlo had been in contact with Y Mut Mlo, who is currently wanted by the Dak Lak People’s Court on terrorism charges. Despite warnings from authorities, Y Po Mlo continued to receive instructions from the FULRO group in Thailand.

Y Po Mlo is alleged to have met with several individuals in Dak Lak, where he exchanged, sent and received false information, which was then relayed back to the FULRO group in Thailand. The authorities believe these actions were part of an effort to undermine solidarity policies and authorities.

During a raid on Y Po Mlo’s residence, police seized several documents and pieces of evidence about him and terrorist organizations, including the Montagnards Stand for Justice group in Thailand and the Montagnard Support Group in the U.S.

The arrest follows a January court ruling in which 10 individuals were sentenced to life imprisonment for terrorism-related activities in Dak Lak.
