Vietnam records 424,717 new Covid-19 cases


The Ministry of Health confirmed 424,717 new Covid-19 cases Saturday, including over 274,000 cases detected on previous days but yet to be added to the national database.

Hanoi and the northern provinces of Nam Dinh and Bac Ninh added the cases from previous days, making them the three localities with the highest numbers of new cases confirmed in the day: Hanoi with 211,071, Nam Dinh with 50,788 and Bac Ninh with 38,862.

The total Covid death toll rose to 41,820 with the confirmation of 77 deaths on Saturday.

The total number of infections in the fourth wave since late April last year is now more than 7.71 million, of which 3.99 million have recovered.

The nation has administered over 201 million Covid-19 vaccine doses so far.
