Vietnam beat Laos 6-0 in opening game of AFF Cup

Vietnam had an easy game with Laos in the AFF Cup opener. Six goals were scored by six different players as Vietnam completely dominated the game.

The goal fest started in the 15th minute with Nguyen Tien Linh’s header. After that, chances kept pouring in for the Golden Dragons. Three minutes before halftime, substitution Nguyen Van Quyet made a return pass to captain Do Hung Dung, who elegantly curled it in to double the score.

Ten minutes into the second half, Vietnam made it three with Ho Tan Tai’s tap-in. Two minutes later, the ball found Doan Van Hau on the left and he finished brilliantly with the outside of his left foot.

With four goals in their bag, Vietnam subbed out several key players, but still found the net twice in the remaining time, with goals by Nguyen Van Toan in the 82nd minute and Vu Van Thanh in the 91st minute. The big win shot Vietnam to the top of group B.
