A Vietnam Airlines flight from HCMC to Hanoi had to turn back Saturday morning so that a passenger could receive medical aid.
Half an hour after the carrier’s Boeing 787 aircraft departed from Tan Son Nhat Airport at 10 a.m., a 44-year-old passenger suffered from high blood pressure and difficult breathing.
The crew provided medical support but the passenger’s condition did not improve, so they decided to turn back. Doctors Tan Son Nhat airport gave the passenger medicine to reduce blood pressure.
A representative of Vietnam Airlines said the passenger is in stable health and being monitored at the airport’s medical room.
The plane resumed its trip and arrived in Hanoi at 2:09 p.m., two hours later than schedule.
Also on Saturday morning, another Vietnam Airlines flight from Hue to Hanoi was delayed for 20 minutes after a passenger showed abnormal behaviors and were taken off the plane.
Earlier, a Vietnam Airlines plane flying from Germany to HCMC had to stop halfway in Azerbaijan on Friday morning (Hanoi time) as a German man on board got sick.
