VBA 2024: Nha Trang Dolphins get easy win against Đà Nẵng Dragons

HCM CITY — The Nha Trang Dolphins won a blowout by a score of 95-69 against the Đà Nẵng Dragons thanks to the excellence performance of Dominique Tham on Sunday.

The “Hàn River Dragons” just ended their long losing streak with a victory against the City Wings in the previous match.

The first quarter between the Dolphins and the Dragons was an exciting tug of war.

The Dolphins, with the brilliance of Dominique Tham, took the lead.

In response, the Dragons proactively increased the tempo and carried out quick counterattacks with Marquis Davison and Bryan Nguyễn, allowing the Dragons to keep the score at 23-23.

In the second quarter, the increased counterattacks helped the Dragons advance.

With the combined efforts of Davison and the experience of veteran shooter Triệu Hán Minh, the Dragons widened the lead to 13 points, 39-26.

While the guests were in trouble, Huỳnh Vĩnh Quang of the Dolphins successfully executed a three pointer.

That shot by the Local Player of the Year of VBA 2022 awakened other players to play their best form, especially Dominique Tham, who dominated the paint area.

In addition, with three three-pointers from the corner by Sơn Minh Tâm, the Dolphins took the lead at 48-43.

In the third quarter, the Dragons moved the ball a lot but could not find favourable mismatches for big men like Max Allen. After more than eight minutes of the third quarter, the home team only made two baskets.

On the other side, Tham still dominated the paint area getting many rebounds, and scoring points from second chances.

The guests ended the quarter with a 16-point lead at 69-53.

Unable to create any surprises in the fourth quarter, the home team had to accept defeat with a score of 95-69.
