US President Joe Biden congratulates President Tô Lâm on his election as Party leader

HÀ NỘI — On August 7, US President Joe Biden sent a congratulatory message to President Tô Lâm on his election as the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Việt Nam’s 13th Central Committee.

In his message, President Biden emphasised the importance of continued collaboration between Việt Nam and the United States, considering the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership as the foundation of their bilateral relationship.

President Biden stated: “Vice President Harris and I look forward to working with General Secretary Lâm to continue advancing this historic progress, which supports a strong, independent, prosperous, and resilient Việt Nam.”

Thai Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin expressed his firm belief that, under the skilful guidance and wise leadership of General Secretary and President Tô Lâm, Việt Nam will continue to progress and prosper. He expressed his desire to work closely with Tô Lâm to further advance the Thailand-Việt Nam relationship towards a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for the mutual benefit of the peoples of both countries.

The President of the Fatherland for All Party of the Dominican Republic expressed confidence that, under Tô Lâm’s leadership, the Communist Party of Việt Nam will continue to achieve new successes in building socialism in Việt Nam.

South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol, on behalf of the government and people of South Korea, sincerely congratulated Tô Lâm on his election as General Secretary of the Communist Party of Việt Nam. President Yoon affirmed that, under Tô Lâm’s leadership, Việt Nam will continue to achieve remarkable development and elevate its international standing.

President Yoon expressed his desire to closely cooperate with Tô Lâm to further enhance the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between South Korea and Việt Nam across all fields, contributing to the consolidation of peace, stability, and prosperity in the region.

In a congratulatory letter, Sergey Mironov, Chairman of the A Just Russia Party, stated that Tô Lâm is known and respected in Russia as a professional, responsible, and reputable leader who prioritises the interests of the country and its people. He affirmed the desire to continue fostering constructive dialogue between the A Just Russia Party and the Communist Party of Việt Nam to support the development of the Russia-Việt Nam Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

In his congratulatory message, Shii Kazuo, Chairman of the Presidium of the Japanese Communist Party (JCP) Central Committee, expressed confidence that, under Tô Lâm’s leadership, the Communist Party of Việt Nam and the Vietnamese people will continue to achieve even greater success in their glorious Renovation efforts. He expressed his desire for continued cooperation between the two parties to deepen their relationship and strengthen ties between the two countries.

On this occasion, many international and Vietnamese organisations around the world have also sent letters and messages congratulating General Secretary and President Tô Lâm. VNS
