Air fares from the U.S. to Ho Chi Minh City have droppped significantly, making it one of most ideal foreign getaways for American travelers this fall, says travel-booking app Hopper.
A Washington Post report also noted that prices for October flights to Ho Chi Minh City from Los Angeles, San Francisco and San Diego were down more than 50% from 2021 with average fares around $700.
In addition to HCMC, other destinations that have witnessed steep drops in fares from the U.S., compared to last year, are Canada’s Toronto and Montreal, Portugal’s Lisbon, Puerto Rico’s Ponce, Mexico’s Monterrey and Tahiti.
U.S. magazine Condé Nast Traveler had earlier listed Ho Chi Minh City among seven destinations that “are seeing surges in interest from American travelers this fall.”
The Vietnamese government has allowed quarantine-free entry for foreign visitors since March and lifted most Covid restrictions.
Americans can apply for an e-visa to visit Vietnam.
