A motorbike ride-hailing driver and his passenger were hit by a truck on a Hanoi street soon after they had an argument with its driver.
The incident took place last Saturday morning on Nguyen Xien Street in Hoang Mai District, when Tran Hang Nhi booked a motorbike to return home from work.
When they reached Nguyen Xien Street, the driver overtook a truck, which made the driver of that vehicle angry, Nhi said.
“The truck driver honked loudly, lowered his window, yelled at us ‘What kind of driver are you?’ and threatened to hit us.”
The motorbike driver said “This is normal driving” and accelerated to keep ahead of the truck, she said.
But the truck chased after them and deliberately hit the motorbike, sending Nhi and the driver sprawling on the street.
The truck driver drove away immediately but passers-by helped the duo.
A car coming behind them braked just in time but had managed to capture the whole incident on its dashcam.

Nhi suffered a sprain while the driver escaped unhurt.
“I’m still in a state of panic,” Nhi told VnExpress on Sunday.
“What the truck driver did was no different from intentional killing.”
The ride-hailing company has complained to the police.
The police asked to keep the motorbike for the investigation, but he refused, saying it was his only means of livelihood.
The truck driver had not been identified as of Monday morning.
