More than 20,000 tickets for the second leg of the 2022 AFF Cup final on January 16 between Thailand and Vietnam in Bangkok were sold out after just five minutes on Thursday.
The second leg on January 16 will take place at Thammasat Stadium, which has a capacity of 25,000. The organizers issued over 20,000 tickets online. They were available for purchase from 10 a.m. on Thursday and sold out immediately.
The highest ticket price for the second leg is 600 baht ($18) in stand A. The price for a seat in stand B is 450 baht, and stands C and D 250 baht. Newspaper Thairath reported that the resale price of the tickets doubled the original price.
Tickets for the fans of the away team, Vietnam, cost 750 baht.
The ticket price for the second leg is nearly half lower than the first leg on Friday at My Dinh National Stadium in Hanoi, which has a capacity of 40,000. The price stamps are VND400,000 ($17), VND600,000, VND800,000 and VND1 million.
With the hype of the final, all tickets for the first leg were sold out after two hours on Tuesday. By Thursday afternoon, the resale prices were four times the original prices.
Vietnam and Thailand have met once at Thammasat Stadium in the second stage of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers in Asia in September 2019, where they had a 0-0 draw.
The first and second leg of the AFF Cup 2022 final will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Monday and will be reported live on VnExpress International.
