HÀ NỘI — Thousands of people queued in front of the Việt Trì Stadium, Phú Thọ Province, on May 3, to buy tickets for the Group A matches of the SEA Games men’s football event.

Many of them stayed overnight near the stadium with the hope of being the first people in line.

Nguyễn Quốc Hải from Tiên Cát Commune, Việt Trì City said he came to the stadium at 7pm last night.

“I really want to watch U23 Việt Nam in person. I came early to make sure I could buy two tickets,” said Hải.

Meanwhile, Hoàng Văn Luân from Vĩnh Yên City, Vĩnh Phúc Province, failed to buy tickets online so he travelled nearly 40km to Việt Trì early in the morning to buy directly at booths.

Ticket prices range from VNĐ300,000-600,000 and each supporter is allowed to buy a maximum of two tickets per match.

Group A gathers Việt Nam, Indonesia, Myanmar, the Philippines, and East Timor.

Hosts and defending champions Việt Nam will play Indonesia in the opening match on May 6 although the Games will officially begin on May 12. — – VnExpress News
