Ettoday reports that Wang has sold the hotel, which confirmed on Aug. 21 that it would only accept bookings until that date, subsequently ceasing operations.
A source revealed that the decision to close the hotel was made by Wang due to its monthly losses, which amounted to tens of millions of Taiwan dollars (NT$10 million equals US$313,470). He now intends to concentrate on growing his spicy noodle business in Taiwan and exit the hotel industry.
Previously known as S Hotel and now operating as MGallery, the establishment was opened by Wang in 2017 with an investment of about NT$350 million. He originally named the hotel “S” as a romantic tribute to his then-wife Hsu, whose nickname is “Big S.”
Post-divorce, Wang renamed the hotel in cooperation with a new management team. The entrepreneur stated his intention to provide superior services under the new brand name. Any links to Hsu have been systematically eliminated, including changing the hotel’s logo from “S” to “M.”
Hsu, 48, is noted for her fame from TV series like “Meteor Garden,” “Mars,” and “Summer’s Desire.”
She married Wang, 43, from 2011 to 2021 and share two children. She remarried 55-year-old DJ Koo in 2022, only three months after divorcing Wang.
Wang also remarried Mandy Ma, a 25-year-old businesswoman, in May this year.
