Two flights scheduled to leave Hanoi and HCMC for Hong Kong Monday afternoon will be delayed by seven hours due to Storm Talim, Vietnam Airlines has announced.
Two flights in the reverse directions have also been rescheduled, the airline said in a press release.
Besides, flights from Da Nang to Tokyo and Seoul would arrive later than scheduled since they are forced to make a detour to avoid the storm.
Talim, the first storm to form over Vietnam’s East Sea this year, is forecast to make landfall in the northern Quang Ninh Province, home to UNESCO heritage site Ha Long Bay.
It is expected to dump rains of up to 500 mm on the north between Monday night and Thursday morning.
According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, operations at four airports – Van Don in Quang Ninh, Cat Bi in Hai Phong City, Noi Bai in Hanoi, and Tho Xuan in Thanh Hoa – will be affected by the storm.
