Stavian Chemical strives to catch up with green living

Offering a wide range of biodegradable household packaging products, Stavian Chemical helps consumers to take care of the environment.

The new Stahaus line was produced by Stavian Chemical, one of the leading enterprises in the production of eco-friendly biodegradable packaging in Vietnam. Stahaus has been upgraded and improved in terms of design and quality compared to the former Green Eco line. In Vietnam, Stahaus products are currently distributed at many supermarket chains like WinMart, WinMart+, Big C, BRG, Lotte… by Stavian Distribution, a member of Stavian Group.

Stavian Chemical products have been independently tested following U.S. laboratory standards and achieved eco-friendly plastic bag certification by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.

“My family has been using Green Eco’s biodegradable products for many years. I recently learned that the brand has changed its name to Stahaus with a more eye-catching design, reasonable price, but unchanged quality.

“I usually take baskets or self-decomposing bags with me when going to the market and supermarket to reduce using plastic bags. If every citizen follows this habit, we will reduce plastic waste in the environment,” customer Le Ngoc from Hai Ba Trung District, Hanoi, said.

To accompany the government of Vietnam in its plan to reduce single-use plastic waste and advocate for people to change their consumption habits, and use eco-friendly biodegradable packaging, Stahaus is committed to developing with the motto of “Specialized, Minimalist, Nordic standards,” considering health and convenience as top priorities, ensuring food safety and Vietnamese consumer health.

According to the Institute of Strategy and Policy on Natural Resources and Environment, plastic waste is seen as a global problem. Vietnam is currently one of the countries with the largest amount of plastic waste in the world.

According to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment’s estimation, there are about 30 billion plastic packaging bags used and discarded each year in Vietnam. However, only 17 percent are recycled and reused while the rest gets discarded immediately after one use.

Normally, plastic packaging takes 500 – 1,000 years to decompose. If using the combustion method, plastic bags will produce several toxic gases like CO2, causing air pollution and affecting human health. Furthermore, flowing plastic bags will also cause ponds, lakes, and rivers to be clogged with stagnant wastewater leading to polluted domestic water sources. As a result, people are continuously suffering from the harmful effects of plastic packaging.

Currently, many supermarket chains and consumers have reduced the use of non-biodegradable plastic bags. They also use fewer or even replace single-use plastic products with biodegradable, eco-friendly products. This has gradually helped other consumers become more aware of plastic bag effects and waste collection.
