Star midfielder’s girlfriend attends contract ceremony

Hai arrived at the football club’s headquarters in a white shirt and pink suit Friday morning. He was accompanied by his girlfriend and his representative Michele Fersini.

The football club said at the ceremony Thursday that their contract with him would be valid for one and a half years.

This was one of the rare times that Hai and Huyen appeared together in public. The couple is said to have started dating in mid-2021. In October 2022, Huyen joined Hai’s parents on a trip to France to visit Hai, who was playing for France’s Pau FC.

Hai and Pau FC reached a mutual agreement on terminating his contract one year ahead of scheduled because Hai didn’t want to be a substitute anymore. In the 2022-2023 season, Hai played 13 games with a total time of 268 minutes, only 20 minutes per game, and scored one goal.

The most recent game he played for the first team was on February 18. After that, he played seven games with a total time of 579 minutes for the reserve team Pau B in National 3, the fifth tier.

Hai is believed to have joined Hanoi Police FC for a monthly salary of VND100 million (around $4,250).
