Star midfielder reveals plan to get married soon

“I do not feel impatient at all,” the midfielder said. “In my opinion, everything will come at its right time. I think my turn [to get married] will come soon.”

Hai, 26, is one of the few members of the squad that helped Vietnam finish as the runner-up of the 2018 AFC U23 Championship who remains unmarried or without children.

It is reported that Hai is dating Chu Thanh Huyen, an online influencer and business owner. The two are believed to have started dating in 2021, and have been seen together on many occasions, including when Hai attended a contract signing ceremony with Hanoi Police Football Club in June this year and when defender Doan Van Hau held his wedding.

The midfielder is ready for his team’s next match as a recent injury of his has completely recovered, he said.

“I completed treatment last week indeed, but I wanted to take care of it carefully with the club’s fitness coach,” he said.

Hai is one of the most prominent footballers in Vietnam. He has won four V. League titles, two National Cups, and three Super Cup titles, and is a key player of the national team, with whom he won the SEA Games in 2019 and the 2018 AFF Cup title.

He is believed to earn a monthly salary of VND100 million (US$4,100) from Hanoi Police FC, following the termination of his contract with French club Pau FC earlier this year.
