South Korean carrier resumes flights to Da Nang

South Korea’s biggest carrier Korean Air Wednesday restarted its Incheon – Da Nang City service after over two years of suspension due to Covid-19.

On Wednesday night a flight carrying 200 tourists landed at Da Nang International Airport in central Vietnam.

There will be two weekly flights on Wednesdays and Saturdays until July 27 when the carrier plans to make it a daily service.

“South Korea is one of the largest tourism markets for Da Nang and the resumption of the Incheon-Da Nang service is a positive sign for tourism recovery,” Nguyen Xuan Binh, deputy head of the city’s tourism department said.

In 2019, the year before the onset of the pandemic, Da Nang received 1.7 million tourists from South Korea.

Vietnam has allowed free-quarantine entry for all foreign arrivals since March 15 and resumed the visa exemption for South Koreans.

It has also removed Covid testing requirements.
