Singer Ha Thanh Xuan returns to Vietnam from US after split with ‘Koi fish king’

Singer Ha Thanh Xuan returned to Vietnam from the U.S. for performances and family visits, her first trip back since separating from ‘Koi fish king’ Thang Ngo four months ago.

Xuan’s visit began in Hanoi last Friday, where she enjoyed sightseeing, including a stop at St. Joseph’s Cathedral, and experiencing the northern winter. She later traveled to Ho Chi Minh City to perform at a charity music event “Tri An” (Gratitude), alongside artists such as Dam Vinh Hung, Quang Le, Nam Cuong, and others.

The singer appeared cheerful, sharing a smiling photo on social media during her visit.

Xuan now actively engages with her fans about her performance schedule and personal life, a shift from her previously reserved online presence. She has a packed schedule, with performances lined up in the U.S., Switzerland, the U.K., and more until the end of the Lunar New Year holiday which falls in February.

Fans have noticed Xuan’s radiant beauty and positive demeanor post-breakup, expressing delight in her focus on her career and new music releases.

Xuan, who has been residing in the US for the past two years, briefly returned there after her wedding to Thang Ngo in May 2022. In September 2023, she announced their separation due to irreconcilable differences, clarifying that they had not legally registered their marriage and had been living apart for a year prior to their split.

During this period, Xuan battled depression, withdrawing from social media to cope. “I avoided reading comments on social media,” she disclosed.

Thang Ngo, who is yet to confirm the breakup, currently resides in Vietnam. He focuses on his koi fish care and real estate ventures. Prior to his relationship with Xuan, 36, Thang Ngo, 48, had experienced a divorce.

Thang Ngo is recognized for his wealth, owning some of Vietnam’s largest koi fish farms and serving as the sole Vietnamese judge at the 50th All Japan Nishikigoi Show in 2019.

Xuan, a bolero singer and winner of several singing competitions in Vietnam, emigrated to the U.S. in 2010. The couple first met in April 2021 through mutual acquaintances.
