Singapore offers young Vietnamese professionals 2-year job opportunity


As part of an exchange program, 300 people graduating in select majors from certain universities will be offered a chance to work in Singapore for two years.

The Department of Overseas Labor Management recently announced the Vietnam-Singapore Innovation Talent Exchange Program for candidates aged up to 30 who have a bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral degree from a list of identified universities.

To be eligible for the exchange, candidates from Vietnam must have graduated from one of the following universities if in Vietnam: the Hanoi University of Science and Technology, the Vietnam National University in Hanoi and HCMC, University of Da Nang, and Duy Tan University.

They could also have graduated from the National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University, Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, Lasalle College of the Arts, Singapore Management University, Republic Polytechnic, Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Singapore Institute of Technology, and Singapore University of Technology and Design or from over 100 others worldwide.

The jobs are in data science and analytics, cybersecurity and risk, cloud computing, the internet of things, artificial intelligence, augmented reality, virtual reality, machine learning, application/system programming, digital innovation, software development, web, mobile and application development, system design, research and innovation, low or zero-carbon hydrogen, and semiconductor technology.

The program aims to provide short-term employment in innovation-related positions.

The candidate selection process follows a memorandum of understanding signed by the two countries in August 2023.
