Should I date my foreign supervisor?

My foreign supervisor often invites me to eat, buys gifts for me, and creates opportunities for us to have private time together.

I’m a 30-year-old office worker. My job is demanding yet rewarding, so I plan to stay with it long-term.

I dated twice before but have been single since 2019, though I have been complimented for my looks many times. I’m a straightforward and cheerful woman who is also introverted and family-oriented.

My direct supervisor is a few years older. As about 90% of my job involves direct contact with him, we talk and spend time with each other a lot.

He sometimes makes me feel like he is flirting with me. For example, he often has suggestive comments as if we are in a relationship, and he frequently asks about my preferences and hobbies. I do find him charming, and I admit that I would like to progress if possible.

The problem is there are rumors about him dating a coworker before I joined the company. As they eventually broke up, that woman quit. As someone that wants to stay with this job for longer, I do not want that to happen to me.

I also heard that unmarried men over 35 often seek relationships out of their physical needs. If I date him, it might lead to premarital physical intimacy, while I am a traditional woman and do not want to have sex before marriage.

I know my thoughts may be redundant, since he and I are not anything yet, but I am still concerned.

What should I do?
