Sale platform on smartphones saves Mondelez millions of dollars


Mondelez Kinh Do Vietnam has partnered with FPT Software to integrate their sales platform on personal phones, saving millions of dollars each year.

Mondelez has collaborated with FPT Software, an FPT member, to move the sales platform on all devices, switching to personal phones called Sale Force Automation.

The system helps optimize sales thanks to the ability to schedule meetings with agents with reasonable visit routes. The platform can also suggest additional potential items, thanks to the ability to analyze data about the order frequency and demand of the distributor, avoiding omissions in the exchange.

Orders are synchronized throughout the system, enabling departments from accounting to warehouse to coordinate the preparation of goods, invoices and shipping.

Nguyen Quoc Dung, a representative of Mondelez Kinh Do Vietnam, said that the distribution to each customer segment needs to be strategically automated with more than 230 products.

“We have developed a sales ecosystem for personal phones, but also seek to integrate smart sales to support our employees,” said Dung.

Thanks to the solid foundation of the Distribution Management System by FPT Software, Mondelez quickly transformed its operations. The company also moved its system to cloud in 2019, which improved data synchronization, simultaneous security upgrades, and real-time multi-device connection.

According to Nguyen Tri Thai, director of EBS. DMS Department at FPT Software, the problem is the variety of devices spread throughout regions. Each device series uses a different connection wave, depending on the accuracy of map location, speed of the local network, etc., which can create large deviations for customer data.

“We adjusted many parameters to double the accuracy of the phone,” said Thai.

FPT Software’s platform, for example, allows two different phone mode setups, work and personal, to help ensure user privacy while optimizing information security for business.

When switching to work mode, information and photos of customers and orders are transferred directly to Mondelez’s system on the cloud platform. As a result, the company still ensures the requirements of the operating process, while creating a comprehensive customer portrait, boosting sales and sustainable growth.

“At the same time, the system is capable of integrating AI to recognize images, voices, and analyze data. Expanding to omnichannel, the ecosystem will support companies to make prerequisite decisions, promote business efficiency and competitiveness,” said Thai.

About FPT Software’s solutions, Mondelez’s representative stated that several million dollars in annual budget were saved while addressing the needs of thousands of employees.

The representative also emphasized one of Mondelez’s key goals in 2022 is to deploy automatic order solutions on a global scale, applying AI developed by FPT Software. This is an important step to promoting business through technology, expected to bring breakthrough growth for Mondelez Kinh Do Vietnam in the coming years.

Mondelez, a corporation that has been incorporating technology into its operations and administration since 2013, previously provided tablets for sales team usage. With over 2,000 employees distributing to 230,000 points of sale around the country, the company spent a significant amount of money every two years to replace all of its tablets with modern ones.
