Saigon weekend filled with Christmas cocktails and market magic


Saigon locals are in for a festive treat this Christmas weekend, with seafood delights, a lively market, and a cinematic gem.

Festive seafood buffet

The upcoming dining event at Saigon Café Restaurant in Sheraton Saigon Hotel & Towers is set to offer a Christmas celebration. Attendees can access a buffet with live cooking stations featuring international cuisines.

The options range from Western to Asian dishes, including a seafood selection and a carvery station with traditional holiday offerings. Entertainment during the event comprises Christmas choir, DJ performance, lucky draw, and gifts for children.

The event offers brunch and dinner with varying prices for adults and children. Ticket prices include a buffet and complimentary beverages like sparkling wine, red/white wine, festive cocktails, draft beer, and soft drinks. Tickets start at VND1,988,000 ($80) per adult and VND950,000 ($40) per child.

The event is scheduled from Dec. 23 to 25 at Saigon Café Restaurant, located on Level 1 of Sheraton Saigon Hotel & Towers at 80 Dong Du Street, District 1.

The event “Christmas Market – Merry Everything And Happy Always” is set to transform The Running Bean coffee shop into a bustling hub of festive activity on Dec. 23-24.

The event is set to offer a variety of products from different stalls. Participating brands will present their range, including treats, handcrafted items, designs, and scents. Each purchase made during the event entitles shoppers to receive a complimentary ticket for a chance to receive a gift.

The event is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. from Dec. 23 to 24, at The Running Bean at 115 Ho Tung Mau Street, District 1.

Ho Ho Ho Xmas Party

Le Café des Stagiaires is hosting the “Ho Ho Ho X-mas Party” to embrace the festive spirit. Attendees are encouraged to engage in various activities, including a Secret Santa gift exchange and an evening enhanced by DJ sets, while savoring food and drinks.

The event is scheduled for Dec. 23, starting at 8 p.m. and extends into the late hours, with an entrance fee of VND100,000 ($4). The venue is Le Café des Stagiaires at 10 Street 54, Thao Dien Ward, Thu Duc City.

Christmas cocktails collection

The Muse is hosting a cocktail event “Xmas Party On The Top,” providing a Christmas celebration at its riverside rooftop venue in Saigon. In the spirit of the festive season, a Christmas-themed cocktail collection drinks is introduced, with each glass priced at VND300,000 ($12).

The event is scheduled from Dec. 21 to 25. Especially on Dec. 23, there will be a Pre-Xmas party with a violin performance from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. The venue is The Muse, located within Mia Saigon, situated at 2-4 Street 10, District 2.

French movie “Le Mépris” (Contempt)

French cinema Rendez-vous is a new weekly event introducing the richness and diversity of French cinema by screening a variety of very different films. Screenings are held by French Cinema Rendez-vous and Institut Français de HCMV.

“Contempt” is a French-Italian drama that explores the strained marriage of Paul and Camille Javal. The movie delves into the complexities of love, art, and the compromises people make for success. The film is renowned for its innovative filmmaking techniques, visual style, and its contribution to the French New Wave movement.

“Le Mépris” will be shown at DCiné Cinema, 6 Mac Dinh Chi Street, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, on Dec. 23 at 7 p.m. The entrance fee is VND60,000 ($2.50) per person.
