With the domestic basketball league VBA 2022 title, Saigon Heat have become the first team to win three consecutive national championships.
In game three of the VBA 2022 final Saturday night, Saigon Heat defeated Hanoi Buffaloes 87-78 to wrap up the season with an overall 3-0 victory.
This is a well-deserved title for Saigon who have been on consistent form throughout the season. Saigon led the table in the regular season with nine wins and three losses. Their defense is the key to this success, only conceding an average 69.4 points per game.
In the semifinals, Saigon won 2-0 against Ho Chi Minh City Wings.
Their victory is even more special as they did not lose a single game in the play-off.
Da Nang Dragons in 2016 and Can Tho Catfish in 2018 also achieved this feat. But Saigon is the only team so far that have won a three-peat in the history of VBA.
