Saigon boy shot in head by air gun

The pellet embedded itself in the boy’s skull above his right eye, and he was taken to Children’s Hospital 2 in a conscious state, said Dr. Le Quang My of the hospital’s Department of Neurosurgery on Monday.

Doctors managed to remove the 5-mm pellet out of the boy’s skull with surgery. He was expected to be discharged Monday night.

On Saturday last week, the boy visited a friend’s house to play.

The pair played with an air gun and tried to hunt small animals.

But when the boy’s friend thought there was no bullet in the gun, he pulled the trigger and accidentally fired a pellet directly at the other boy’s face.
