By not eating past 8 p.m., adhering to a clean eating diet, and engaging in gym and yoga activities, Pham Thu Hang has successfully maintained her slender and toned figure.

Hang, a 28-year-old freelance fashion model and makeup artist, stands at 1.68 meters tall.

Following relationship issues in 2018, Hang faced significant stress and weight loss, which brought her down to just 43 kg. Disturbed by her frail appearance and lack of vitality upon seeing her reflection, she resolved to restore her health and physique.

“Living away from my family, I realized I had to take care of myself to ease my parents’ worries,” Hang remarked.

After committing to gym workouts and proper nutrition, Hang gained 10 kg in two months, yet she still lacked muscle tone and definition. She also struggled with hormonal imbalances caused by chronic stress, which affected her sleep and caused night sweats.

Her doctor recommended she pursue a balanced lifestyle, including regular exercise, a healthy diet, and consistent self-care routines.

Hang’s weight now stabilizes between 49-50 kg, with a constant waist measurement of 62 cm, and she enjoys excellent physical and mental health. Over the past six years, Hang has adhered to the following practices to keep her figure slim and toned:

Following an “eat clean” diet and avoiding eating after 8 p.m.

Adhering to the diet habits, Hang prioritizes plant-based foods in her meals, and thus feels her body become lighter, healthier, and more energetic.

Hang also limits her intake of carbonated drinks, sugary foods, and fast food.

The clean eating diet emphasizes consuming natural, wholesome foods to enhance health, promote weight loss, and sustain a fit physique. It advocates eating whole, unprocessed foods like fruits and vegetables, along with lean meats, whole grains, and healthy fats, while limiting processed foods, sweets, and other pre-packaged items.

Doing gym and yoga

In terms of fitness, Hang balances gym sessions and home yoga to relax and maintain her physique, alternating between these activities in the afternoons three to four times a week. She doesn’t focus exclusively on any one body part. Instead, she varies her workouts, targeting different areas like legs and glutes on specific days, then shoulders, back, and chest on others, aiming for a well-rounded physique.

Research has demonstrated that gym workouts can enhance hormone production, which improves muscle tone and definition by allowing muscle tissue to absorb essential amino acids more effectively. Regular gym activity also boosts metabolism, increasing calorie burn and aiding weight loss.

Yoga, meanwhile, helps reduce overall body fat, prevents fat buildup in the liver, and improves blood circulation, which enhances overall health. Specific yoga poses like Kapalabhati (breath of fire), Matsyasana (fish pose), and Dhanurasana (bow pose) support liver function and help balance hormones, improving sleep quality.

Additionally, physical activity has been shown to trigger the brain to release hormones like serotonin, endorphin, and dopamine, which promote happiness, reduce stress and fatigue, and sharpen focus. Some studies even suggest that activities like gym workouts and running can match the effects of antidepressant drugs.

For Hang, regular exercise is her means of combating stress without medication.

Since young, Hang struggled with poor health and low immunity, often falling ill, she shared. However, since adopting a consistent regimen of exercise and healthy eating, she has not only transformed her physique but also significantly enhanced her overall health.

“Health is incredibly important to me,” Hang stated. “Without it, I can’t accomplish anything.”

She explained that was the reason why she has followed this diet and exercise plan for many years, and encouraged everyone to remain persistent and disciplined to achieve lasting health and beauty and advises against relying too heavily on cosmetic surgery for appearance changes.
