Prince Mateen of Brunei’s bride dressed in traditional splendor for royal wedding

Anisha Rosnah Isa-Kalebic, the bride of Prince Mateen of Brunei, dazzled attendees in a traditional outfit designed by renowned Malaysian designer Teh Firdaus during a pre-wedding ceremony.

Firdaus, known for his exquisite bridalwear, took to Instagram on Monday to express his honor in contributing to the Brunei royal wedding, as reported by The National.

“Honored to play a role in the Brunei royal wedding,” he wrote.

“Witness the grace of Yang Mulia Dayang Anisha Rosnah Adam Isa-Kalebic in our custom-made baju kurung in intricately woven tenunan Brunei, as she embraces elegance during her Khatam Quran event.”

It can be seen that the royal bride’s outfit featured crystal-adorned sleeves and skirt edges, enhancing its splendor. She complimented her looks with a white hijab and natural makeup, radiating simplicity and grace.

Baju kurung is Brunei’s traditional dress, and the Khatam Quran is a Muslim tradition where the bride-to-be completes Quran reading before marriage.

Continuing with Brunei Royal Family traditions, an Islamic ceremony is planned for Jan. 11, with a reception and a parade in Bandar Seri Begawan on Jan. 14, according to People Magazine. The royal nuptials will officially conclude on Jan. 16.

Details of Isa-Kalebic and Prince Mateen’s relationship have been scarce, but they reportedly have dated for several years and appeared at various public events, including the wedding of Princess Azemah, Prince Mateen’s sister, last year.

It was only earlier this month that the prince publicly shared their first photo together.

Isa-Kalebic, a University of Bath graduate, is an entrepreneur. She currently runs Silk Collective, a fashion brand, and Authentirary, a tourism company offering cultural experiences.

Coming from a noble family, her grandfather, Pehin Dato Isa, is the Sultan of Brunei’s special advisor and held significant roles in Brunei’s government in the 1960s and 1970s.

Her brother Danial Deen Isa-Kalebic is reportedly a close friend of Prince Mateen, and her sister-in-law Janetira Attaskulchai Deen is part of Thailand’s Attaskulchai family, known for their yogurt empire Betagen.

Prince Mateen, 32, is a helicopter pilot and a major in the Royal Brunei Air Force. He represented his country in polo at the 2017 and 2019 SEA Games.

He was listed among Asia’s top 50 most eligible bachelors by Hong Kong’s Tatler Magazine in 2016.
