A pregnant woman and her twin daughters were killed by a truck in a traffic accident in the central Thua Thien-Hue Province on Saturday.
Ngo Thi Thanh Hieu, 32, was driving her 7-year-old daughters on a motorbike when they were hit by a truck coming from behind near an intersection at around 8:30 a.m.
The mother and children were killed immediately, while their motorbike was severely damaged. The truck’s driver, 31-year-old Nguyen Vu, has been detained by police.
Hoang Hai Minh, deputy chairman of Thua Thien-Hue, said the provincial committee for traffic safety has aided the family of the deceased with VND15 million ($605.57) for a funeral.
