State President Truong Tan Sang and his entourage left Vietnam today for Cambodia for a two-day visit aimed at promoting the friendly relationship and comprehensive cooperation between the two neighboring countries.
The visit is made at the invitation of Cambodian King Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni.
Accompanying President Sang are Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Binh Minh, Chairman of the Government Office Dao Viet Trung, Minister of Planning and Investment Bui Quang Vinh, Minister of Industry and Trade Vu Huy Hoang, Vietnamese Ambassador to Cambodia Thach Du and some other officials.
During their visit, President Sang will have a talk with the Cambodian King while other Vietnamese officials will have meetings with their Cambodian counterparts to boost the traditional friendly relationship and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries in various fields including politics, security, economics and trade.
The two sides will also review and discuss regional and international issues of mutual concern.
In a related development, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the National Council of Solidarity Front for the Development of Cambodia’s Motherland on Monday jointly conducted an international workshop in the southern Vietnamese province of Kien Giang’s Rach Gia City.
The event was held to review the outcomes of the building of the Vietnam-Cambodia borderline for the sake of peace, friendship, cooperation and mutual development in the 2013-2014 period.
