The northern region is expecting a North-east monsoon which could bring a light cold spell during this weekend.
According to Dr. Hoang Phuc Lam, deputy director of the National Centre for Hydro-meteorology Forecasting, the monsoon would cause rains in the north. The cold weather has also been forecasted to hit northern central localities during the time.
The North-east monsoon would help ease the current hot weather in Hanoi. Hanoi’s temperatures at the end of September and early October are set to fall to 21-24 degrees Celsius at night and 29-32 during the day.
From now to late September, the Central Highlands and the southern region are predicted to see a lot of rain, including HCM City.
Early this month, a cold snap also arrived in the northern region. Night temperatures in mountainous areas dropped to 17 degrees.
