Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will attend the 54th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland and visit Hungary and Romania from Jan. 16-23.
Chinh, his spouse, and a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation will attend the WEF event, which will take place from Jan. 15 to 19, upon the invitation of WEF founder and chairman Klaus Schwab, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Thursday.
He will then pay official visits to Hungary and Romania as invited by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, and Romanian Prime Minister Ion-Marcel Ciolacu.
Vietnam has had a relationship with WEF since 1989, and is regularly invited to its annual meetings in Davos, Switzerland, and its conferences on East Asia.
The Vietnamese PM attended the WEF’s 14th Annual Meeting of the New Champions in China in June 2023.
He then requested that the WEF support Vietnam in technology and finance, and in training modern, high-quality personnel.
