Phu Quoc has one of world’s most beautiful jungle resorts

American magazine Travel+Leisure listed Mango Bay Resort on Phu Quoc Island in southern Vietnam among 14 most beautiful jungle hotels in the world.

Lying along Ong Lang Beach in Cua Duong Commune, the resort covers 20 hectares of indigenous natural forest and garden with 40 bungalows.

These bungalows are decorated simply with locally-made four poster beds, wooden furniture, overhead fans, and cotton mosquito nets.

“The beachside bungalow oasis was built using sustainable materials, including local woods and rammed earth. Dedication to energy, water, and nature conservation is found at every corner, from composting to low-water toilets in the (open-air) bathrooms to beds cooled by a low-energy alternative to traditional air conditioning,” Travel+Leisure wrote.

While staying at the resort, tourists can experience outdoor activities like snorkeling, kayaking, canoeing or playing volleyball, beach ball and cricket.

Other hotels included in the list were Gaia Amazon EcoLodge in Ecuador, The Datai Langkawi in Malaysia, Soneva Kiri in Thailand, and Mandapa in Indonesia.

Phu Quoc, Vietnam’s largest island, has become internationally popular after the government allowed 30-day visa-free entry in 2014.

In 2019, before the onset of Covid, it received over five million visitors, including 541,600 foreigners.
